Walking in the Blyde River Canyon I feel I can see how the earth was made. The rivers carve through the gorges exposing the ancient geology of this area. There is so much energy evident in the vigorously growing vegetation and the Afromontane forests tumble like avalanches into the valleys. The isolated and inaccessible ecosystems at the top of the exposed cliffs are treasure troves for botanists. It is a place where nature dominates.
